Hi there, I’m Marilda.

 

For over 25 years, the Tourism and Hospitality industry has been my classroom for understanding people, how they work, lead, collaborate, and sometimes, fall apart under pressure.

I’ve done almost everything, from welcoming guests at reception or cooking meals on the fire to managing 5- star lodges, guiding teams through complex transitions, and building operations from the ground up.

Those years taught me something simple but profound:

Behind every system, strategy, or guest experience, there are humans, doing their best, often without enough support, structure, or space to grow.

That realisation changed the direction of my work.

From Operations to Transformation

What began as tourism consulting evolved into something deeper, helping people and organisations recalibrate.
At first, I focused on improving systems and service.
But over time, it became clear that sustainable change doesn’t start with systems.
It starts with people.
That’s how Marilda Wiegand Coaching was born, a practice built on one belief:

Building better organisations begins with building stronger humans.

The Philosophy Behind My Work

Everything I do, from individual coaching to organisational programs, is grounded in three
principles:

  1. Human First — Growth begins with awareness. We listen before we act.
  2. Co- Responsibility — Change is co- created, not outsourced.
  3. Micro Actions — Real transformation happens through consistent, small steps.

These principles shape the Building Stronger Humans system, a framework that helps people and teams reflect, realign, and grow in ways that last.

How My Work Looks Today

Today, I work with individuals, teams, and organisations who want to grow with purpose and integrity, not through pressure, but through practice. My programs bring together coaching, facilitation, and behavioural insight tools like Shadowmatch to help people see patterns, build awareness, and take meaningful action.

Every engagement, whether it’s a team recalibration, a leadership conversation, or a one- on- one coaching journey, follows the same rhythm:

Pause. Reflect. Realign. Practise. Sustain.
Because growth isn’t a sprint; it’s a practice.

And when people grow, they lift others with them, that’s how we build stronger teams, stronger
organisations, and stronger humans.

Whether I’m facilitating a leadership team in the bush, coaching a young professional finding their path, or reflecting quietly with my own coffee and notebook, it always comes back to one truth:
